Job description

Radiology Technologist - Outpatient

Location: Laurel, MD

Pay From: $40 per hour

Must Have:
  • Experienced Radiology Technician with 1+ years of experience
  • Experience working in a medical or ambulatory health setting for 1+ years
  • Medical office experience for 1+ years
  • ARRT Certification
  • MD State License
  • CPR certification
  • Experience with EMR systems
Responsibilities:
  • Prepare patients for diagnostic imaging exams
  • Review doctor’s notes to understand the purpose of the exam
  • Take medical histories
  • Produce x-ray films for diagnostic purposes such as identifying cancer or fractures
  • Have patients undress and remove jewelry
  • Explain procedures to patients
  • Assess if patients are claustrophobic
  • Position patients correctly for radiography
  • Prepare solutions for patients to drink, if necessary
  • Ensure radiation safety with protective devices
  • Position radiographic equipment accurately
  • Measure body part thickness for imaging
  • Adjust x-ray controls for optimal imaging quality
  • Maintain patient records
  • Adjust and maintain equipment
  • Perform other duties as assigned
