Job summary

Southeast Orthopedic Specialists in St. Augustine, FL is seeking a Radiologic Technician (BMO) to join our Southside clinic. You will produce high-quality radiographs, maintain EMRs, and ensure patient safety while supporting a fast-paced clinic environment.

Qualified candidates will hold BMO certification, state licensure, and BLS, with 1+ year in urgent care or patient care preferred; familiarity with radiographic safety and imaging practices is required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • BMO certification (required); BLS certification and state licensure.
  • 1+ year of experience in urgent care or patient care setting preferred; EMR knowledge helpful.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, diagnostic imaging practices, anatomy, radiographic safety, and equipment handling.
  • Strong customer service, attention to detail, communication, and analytical abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients professionally and explain procedures clearly.
  • Produce high-quality radiographs to support accurate diagnoses.
  • Maintain and update patient EMRs and provide copies of images upon request.
  • Ensure images are uploaded correctly into PACS and monitor radiation safety.
  • Travel between clinic locations as needed.

General Summary
  • Greet patients in a professional, friendly manner and explain procedures clearly.
  • Produce high-quality radiographs to support accurate diagnoses.
  • Maintain and update patient EMRs; provide copies of images upon request.
  • Ensure images are uploaded correctly into PACS.
  • Perform equipment checks, cleaning, and minor maintenance; arrange repairs when needed.
  • Monitor radiation safety, protecting patients and staff at all times.
  • Maintain proper levels of radiology supplies and follow departmental safety protocols.
Essential Functions
  • Deliver safe, efficient diagnostic imaging services.
  • Follow infection-control, OSHA, and departmental policies to maintain a safe environment.
  • Assist with patient positioning and transfers to capture optimal images.
  • Support smooth clinic operations by balancing quality standards with patient care needs.
  • Handle occasional high-stress situations requiring quick, accurate decisions.
  • Travel intermittently between clinic locations, as needed.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma/GED required.
  • Certification: BMO certification (required); BLS certification; state licensure.
