Job summary

Optum Wantagh urgent care is seeking a Radiology Technologist to join our team part-time in Wantagh, NY. The role performs diagnostic x-ray examinations, conducts radiology QA, and supports patient care under the care of OptumCare.

The position blends clinical duties with EMR documentation and lab tasks in a busy urgent care setting. Required NYS radiology licensure and ARRT registration, plus customer service and solid computer skills.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited radiology technologist program
• NYS radiology licensure and ARRT registration
• Customer service experience and solid computer skills

Responsibilities

• Performs diagnostic x-ray examinations
• Performs radiology quality assurance
• Takes vital signs, performs EKGs and assists providers with patient care
• Prepares exam rooms and x-ray room for patients and documents patient encounters in EMR
• Performs lab testing and quality assurance
• Prepares and tracks specimens sent to lab
• Perform MA duties as needed
• Restocks and maintains inventory of exam rooms, lab and storage rooms
• Places outgoing phone calls to patients for follow up care and handles incoming phone calls from patients
• Assists with other tasks as assigned
