Job description

Job Title: Radiologic Technologist

Eligible for up to $20,000 Sign-On Bonus

Summary:

Performs routine diagnostic radiology procedures, including outpatient, emergency department, intraoperative portable C-arm, inpatient, and fluoroscopic exams. Provides radiology services to patients of all ages, from neonates to geriatrics.

Responsibilities:
  1. Understand and demonstrate alignment with the Hospital's Mission, Vision, and Values.
  2. Meet performance expectations and complete competency assessments.
  3. Exceed customer service standards and complete mandatory education (hospital-wide, department-specific, job-specific).
  4. Adhere to department policies, procedures, and protocols, including reviewing the Employee Handbook and charge protocols.
  5. Maintain current CPR certification.
  6. Participate in quality improvement activities across departments.
  7. Ensure a safe environment by utilizing protective devices, practicing aseptic techniques, and following radiation safety protocols.
  8. Transport patients safely and efficiently.
  9. Use lead markers and conduct equipment safety checks before use.
  10. Perform arthrograms, myelograms, C-arm procedures, and x-rays in the OR.
  11. Prepare rooms and assist radiologists with fistulagrams, cystograms, GI studies, and contrast administration for all age groups.
  12. Assist with hysterosalpingograms and process images using digital systems.
  13. Operate C-Arms and portable x-ray units.
  14. Introduce yourself to patients, explain procedures, and set appropriate technical factors.
  15. Use immobilization devices as needed and monitor patient condition during exams.
  16. Perform office functions including RIS/SMS order entry, scheduling, and patient verification.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent with formal radiologic technology training of two years.
  • Eligibility for ARRT registration.
  • Valid Rhode Island Radiographer License.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, lift over 50 lbs, and perform fine motor skills.
  • Good vision and hearing capabilities.
