Job summary

Northeast Georgia Health System is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to perform radiographic procedures in a timely manner and review films for technical quality.

You will operate CR/DR equipment, use PACS, and coordinate with radiologists and ordering providers while following radiation safety practices. This role requires ARRT certification, BLS (within 30 days), and a high school diploma or GED; we value independence and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited ARRT Program.
• Current BLS certification required or must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Ability to perform quality radiographic procedures with proper positioning.

Responsibilities

• Follows radiation safety practices and selects proper technical factors to obtain quality images.
• Positions patients and uses immobilization devices as needed; explains exam to patients.
• Operates CR/DR and PACS systems; reviews orders in EMR for dictation.
• Provides imaging on CD when requested and imports CDs into PACS.
• Serves as liaison between ordering providers and radiologists; assists with radiology-related questions.
• Orders x-ray supplies and maintains PPE; conducts lead apron checks.

Uses radiopaque anatomical side markers with technologist identifier on every image performed.Operates highly specialized equipment, including radiographic CR (computed Radiography), DR (Digital Radiography), and PACS (Picture Archive Communication System).Ensures that imaging equipment is in good working condition and reports equipment malfunctions and maintenance such as calibrations, care, and cleaning. Know and practice downtime procedures. This includes maintenance and testing of shields, display monitors, tube, detector and calibration for all.Reviews patient orders and completes exam/procedure in EMR and PACS system for successful dictation.Provides patient imaging on a CD when requested; ensuring necessary paperwork is completed.
