Explains x-ray exam/procedure to patients and answers any questions. Uses radiopaque anatomical side markers with technologist identifier on every image performed.Operates highly specialized equipment, including radiographic CR (computed Radiography), DR (Digital Radiography), and PACS (Picture Archive Communication System).Ensures that imaging equipment is in good working condition and reports equipment malfunctions and maintenance such as calibrations, care, and cleaning. Know and practice downtime procedures. This includes maintenance and testing of shields, display monitors, tube, detector and calibration for all.Reviews patient orders and completes exam/procedure in EMR and PACS system for successful dictation.Provides patient imaging on a CD when requested; ensuring necessary paperwork is completed.
