Current BLS certification required or must be obtained within 30 days of hire.Educational Requirements: High School Diploma or GEDMinimum Experience:Other:Preferred Job QualificationsPreferred Licensure or other certifications:Preferred Educational Requirements:Preferred Experience: Minimum of two (2) years.Other:Job Specific and Unique Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesAbility to perform quality radiographic proceduresAbility to work independently and effectively with othersBasic computer skillsEssential Tasks and ResponsibilitiesFollows good radiation safety practices; i.e. coning, shielding, quarterly dosimeter monitoring, according to state and federal guidelines.Positions patients, provides immobilizations devices and selects proper technical factors on patients to obtain quality imaging. Explains x-ray exam/procedure to patients and answers any questions. Uses radiopaque anatomical side markers with technologist identifier on every image performed.Operates highly specialized equipment, including radiographic CR (computed Radiography), DR (Digital Radiography), and PACS (Picture Archive Communication System).Ensures that imaging equipment is in good working condition and reports equipment malfunctions and maintenance such as calibrations, care, and cleaning. Know and practice downtime procedures. This includes maintenance and testing of shields, display monitors, tube, detector and calibration for all.Reviews patient orders and completes exam/procedure in EMR and PACS system for successful dictation.Provides patient imaging on a CD when requested; ensuring necessary paperwork is completed.
