Job summary

The University of Kentucky in Lexington, KY is seeking a Cath Lab Technologist to join the Gill Heart Institute. The role involves scrubbing and assisting during diagnostic and interventional cardiac and peripheral angiographic studies, monitoring hemodynamics, and supporting EP/Cath lab procedures.

Requires AS; Kentucky ARRT RT license plus BLS, ACLS, PALS, CET within 6 months of hire. Four 10-hour shifts weekly; shift may vary; call coverage including weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

  • AS degree required.
  • Cardiac Cath/EP experience preferred, other rad tech experience acceptable.

Responsibilities

  • Scrub/assist physician during diagnostic and interventional Cardiac and peripheral angiographic studies.
  • Record and monitor procedures and interpret hemodynamic measurements.
  • Provide adequate call coverage per departmental need and support weekends/holidays.

Kentucky State Radiation Operators License + American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Registered Radiologic Technologist ( ARRT RT ) + Basic Life Support ( BLS ) at time of hire; plus Advanced Cardiac Life Support ( ACLS ), Pediatric Advanced Cardiac Life Support ( PALS ) and Certified EKG Technician ( CET ) within 6 months of hire

Physical Requirements

This position requires the ability to regularly lift, push, and/or pull objects weighing up to and over 50 lbs.; occasionally stand or walk with objects weighing up to 25 lbs.; regularly perform tasks requiring repetitive motions; and occasionally sit at a computer workstation for an extended period of time.

Shift

Four 10-hour weekday shifts per week, 7:00am - 5:30pm. Shift can be scheduled for any weekday. Call coverage required including weekends and holidays. The call back is 30 minutes.

Job Summary

Cardiac Cath and EP Technologist will demonstrate knowledge of Interventional, Structural, Pediatric, and Electrophysiology procedures. Technologist will scrub/assist the physician during diagnostic and Interventional Cardiac and Peripheral angiographic studies. The technologist is also able to record and monitor procedures and demonstrate understanding of hemodynamic measurements and readings from the valve areas. Technologist will provide adequate call coverage per departmental need.
