Job summary

UK HealthCare's Gill Heart Institute in Lexington, KY is hiring a Cath Lab Technologist to scrub/assist during diagnostic and interventional cardiac studies, with a sign-on bonus up to $30,000 and an 18-month commitment.

This staff position requires an AS degree, Kentucky license, ARRT RT, plus BLS at hire and ACLS/PALS within 6 months. Four 10-hour shifts weekly; call coverage on weekends/holidays.

Qualifications

• AS degree required; Kentucky State Radiation Operators License and ARRT RT required by hire.
• BLS at time of hire; ACLS/PALS within 6 months of hire.
• Ability to perform required physical tasks and long shifts; call coverage including weekends.

Responsibilities

• Scrub/assist physician during diagnostic and interventional cardiac and peripheral studies.
• Record and monitor procedures and interpret hemodynamic readings.
• Provide adequate call coverage per departmental need.

Required License/Registration/Certification Kentucky State Radiation Operators License + American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Registered Radiologic Technologist ( ARRT RT ) + Basic Life Support ( BLS ) at time of hire; plus Advanced Cardiac Life Support ( ACLS ), Pediatric Advanced Cardiac Life Support ( PALS ) and Certified EKG Technician ( CET ) within 6 months of hire
Physical Requirements This position requires the ability to regularly lift, push, and/or pull objects weighing up to and over 50 lbs.; occasionally stand or walk with objects weighing up to 25 lbs.; regularly perform tasks requiring repetitive motions; and occasionally sit at a computer workstation for an extended period of time.
Shift Four 10-hour weekday shifts per week, 7:00am – 5:30pm. Shift can be scheduled for any weekday. Call coverage required including weekends and holidays. The call back is 30 minutes.
Job Summary Cardiac Cath and EP Technologist will demonstrate knowledge of Interventional, Structural, Pediatric, and Electrophysiology procedures. Technologist will scrub/assist the physician during diagnostic and Interventional Cardiac and Peripheral angiographic studies. The technologist is also able to record and monitor procedures and demonstrate understanding of hemodynamic measurements and readings from the valve areas. Technologist will provide adequate call coverage per departmental need.
