Job summary

Brown University Health seeks a Radiologic Technologist to perform routine diagnostic radiology procedures for diverse age groups in outpatient, ED, intraoperative, portable, C-arm, and OR settings at Newport Hospital. You will uphold the organization’s values and maintain CPR certification while ensuring patient safety and high quality imaging.

Responsibilities include assisting radiologists, participating in quality improvement, and following department protocols.

Qualifications

• High school graduation, or equivalent, and completing a formal radiologic technology training of two years.
• Ability to meet the requirements for registry by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• Holds a valid State of Rhode Island Radiographer License.
• Current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine diagnostic radiology procedures for outpatients, ED, intraoperative, portable, and OR settings.
• Demonstrates understanding of hospital mission, values, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Ensures patient safety and comfort, explains procedures to patients of all ages, and maintains infection control practices.
• Sets technique factors for properly exposed radiographs for adults, children, and infants.
• Operates C-Arm and portable x-ray units and processes imaging through PACS.
• Performs RIS/SMS order entries, scheduling, and verifies patients in RIS.
