Job summary

The Radiology Technologist at Albert Einstein Medical Center performs x-ray scans to aid physicians in diagnosing illnesses and injuries. You will deliver patient care, explain procedures, and ensure safety and privacy within accredited radiologic imaging services.

Per diem shifts and a collaborative work environment support continuous education and compliance with ARRT standards, RIS/PACS operations, and radiation safety requirements across multiple sites in the Philadelphia region.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved ARRT program or ARRT certification in Radiology (R).
• ARRT (R) and (CT) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with Jefferson values.
• Positions radiographic equipment to produce images with necessary detail for diagnosis.
• Explains radiographic procedures to patients and gathers accurate history.
• Communicates effectively with the patient.

• Maintains and tests x-ray equipment and documents results.
• Keeps patient and study information for billing and RIS/PACS with confidentiality.
• Performs related duties as directed by lead technologist or manager, including QA.
• Maintains continuing education required for licenses and positions.

Job Summary

Executes radiologic services in compliance with relevant laws and regulations andprovidesconsultation advice to patients and radiology professionals. Delivers patient care and education before, during and after diagnostic imaging procedures.

Responsibilities

• Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.
• Appropriately positions radiographic equipment or x-ray film to produce images with necessary detail or contrastin order toassistwith diagnosis and treatment.
• Explains radiographic procedure to the patient, obtains complete andaccuratehistory relevant to the examination to being performed.
• Communicate effectively with the patient.
• Provides staff and patient protectionin accordance withprescribed radiation safety standards, including placement of shields/apronsin order tolimit radiation exposure.
• Implements andmonitorslocal,stateand national regulations, standards,requirementsand clinical protocols for radiologic imaging services.
• Maintains x-ray equipment by performing scheduled cleaning/tests and documents results.
• Maintains and updates patient and study information to ensure billing and RIS/PACS accuracy; handles patient records whilemaintainingpatient confidentiality.
• Performs other related technologist duties as directed by the lead technologist,supervisoror manager, including those related to quality assurance and/or control.
• Responsible formaintainingcontinuing education required for licenses and job positions
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

• Graduate of an approved American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) program orcurrent validated Registry from ARRT in Radiology Technology (R). ARRT (R), (CT) Preferred.

Competencies (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required):

• Knowledge of RIS systems
