Job summary

University of California - San Diego Medical Centers is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to perform routine to complex radiographic and fluoroscopic exams in General Diagnostic Radiology. You will prepare patients, position them, and ensure high-quality images following Radiologist guidelines.

The role requires advanced radiologic knowledge, adherence to radiation safety, and effective communication with patients and staff.

Qualifications

  • Recent graduate of a school of radiologic technology.
  • CRT-R certification in radiography.
  • CRT-F certification within six months of hire, required for Sr. Rad Tech.
  • ARRT R.T(R)(ARRT) certification.
  • BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six months.
  • Less than 18 months of recent experience in a similar role and setting or a new graduate OR more than 18 months for Sr. Rad Tech.
  • Must possess the skills, knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine to complex radiographic and fluoroscopic exams using fixed and portable imaging equipment.
  • Prepare and position patient for procedure by using established protocols to achieve the highest quality image.
  • Enter complex data into the computer system.
  • Review, verifies and evaluates images to ensure technical and image quality.
  • Ensure compliance with related policies, procedures and regulatory guidelines.
  • Demonstrate effective communication and conflict resolution with patients, coworkers, physicians and all health care team members.
  • Other duties as assigned.
