Job summary

Palomar Health is seeking a Radiology Technologist for Diagnostic Radiology. You will perform radiographic studies with fluoroscopy, interpret orders, explain procedures to patients and families, and assist physicians in a filmless, fast-paced environment.

Minimum education is a high school diploma with preferred Associate's degree. CRT, ARRT certifications, and BLS-HCP are required or preferred, with 0-6 months experience acceptable and pathways for growth within Palomar Health.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Association degree preferred for advancement.
  • Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) credentials required or preferred.
  • BLS Healthcare Provider certification required or preferred.
  • Active radiography certifications (CRT(F), ARRT(R)) listed as requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic radiographic procedures with fluoroscopy as needed.
  • Explain procedures to patients, families, and staff; assist physicians.
  • Coordinate department operations and paperwork; support non-technical staff.
  • Maintain radar-efficient workflow in filmless radiology environment.

Department: Radiology‑Diagnostic Union: CHEU Shift: 8-hour Shift - Day (United States of America) Hours Per Pay Period: 20 Job Description: Range: 42.79‑64.27

Performs diagnostic medical radiographic procedures and studies with a thorough understanding of standard radiography and fluoroscopy. Must be able to use knowledge and ability to assist physicians, interpret orders and explain procedures to RNs, patients and families. Secondary responsibilities include a thorough understanding of department operations in order to assist non‑technical staff in processing paperwork, films and expediting patient transportation. Primary work areas include Diagnostic Radiology for the Health System including, but not limited to: Skilled Nursing, Operating Rooms, Trauma/ER, etc. Able to utilize a filmless based environment. Speak and read English at a level that is sufficient to satisfactorily perform the essential functions of the position.

Knowledge of standard office equipment (i.e., calculator, fax, photocopier) and personal computer and computer software skills (i.e., MS Windows, Excel, Access, Word, Powerpoint, internet, e-mail). Windows computer skills including proficient use of keyboarding, use of mouse or keys for functions such as selecting items, use of drop down menus, scroll bars, opening folders, copying and similar operations required upon employment or within the 1st two weeks of employment to perform the essential functions of the job.

Performs other duties as assigned. Follows Palomar Health rules, policies, procedures, applicable laws and standards. Carries out the mission, vision, and quality commitment of Palomar Health.

Job Requirements

Minimum Education: High School Diploma and/or combination of education and experience

Preferred Education: Associate's Degree

Minimum Experience: 0 - 6 months related

Preferred Experience: 1 - 2 years related

Required Certification: Certified Radiologic Technologist CRT(R) American Heart Association recognized BLS - Healthcare Provider

Preferred Certification: Not Applicable

Required License: Certi Radiology Tech CRT(F)

Preferred License: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists ARRT(R)
