Job summary

Nemaha Valley Community Hospital in Kansas seeks a Radiologic Technologist to perform radiology, CT and other examinations as directed by practitioners to provide data for diagnosis and treatment. This technologist is a vital member of the Diagnostic Imaging department reporting to the Imaging Director.

The role requires ARRT registration, state licensure for radiography, CPR certification, and completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program, with continuing education as required.

Qualifications

• Experience as Radiologic Technologist
• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
• Registered with ARRT
• CPR certified
• Must be licensed by the State of Kansas to perform Radiography
• Continuing education requirements per ARRT requirements

Responsibilities

• Carriers out directives in a positive manner and accepts responsibility for follow-up.
• Assists in maintaining adequate supplies in the department.
• Takes quality radiographs as directed by practitioner.
• Operates the CT scanner efficiently.
• Works scheduled hours yet is flexible with the schedule to meet the needs of the department.
• Maintains the department’s QA requirements
• Assists in scheduling patients for the department, both in-house and mobile services.
• Assists in charging the patient, and ensuring that this is done correctly.
• Assists in maintaining equipment and processor.
• Assists in maintaining the department’s filing system, including purging out-dated films and shredding papers.
• Performs all other related duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
• Ensures for an effective, reliable consistent flow of information to and from other departments of the facility.
• Positively promotes NVCH throughout the facility and the community.

Responsible for: Not responsible for anyone

Interrelationships: Works cooperatively with department staff, all hospital

Departments and the Medical Staff.

JOB SUMMARY:

To perform radiology, CT and examinations as directed by practitioners to provide data for diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease. This technologist is a vital member of the Diagnostic Imaging department who is accountable to the Imaging Director for working to meet the needs of customers/patients in the continuous pursuit of cost effective and high quality health care.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience: Previous experience as a Radiological Technologist

Education: Graduate of an accredited program in Radiologic Technology

Req. Cert./ Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology

Registration CPR certified

Must be licensed by the State of Kansas to perform Radiography

Must maintain continuing education requirements per ARRT requirements.
