Qualifications

Responsibilities

Position Overview

The Rad Tech is responsible for operating imaging equipment to perform radiologic procedures for a specified patient population. This role ensures quality imaging services while adhering to regulatory standards and organizational policies. Key Responsibilities

• - Perform quality radiologic procedures using appropriate technical and safety methods.
• - Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, quality standards, and organizational policies and procedures.
• - Manage resources such as supplies and equipment effectively.
• - Plan and complete job responsibilities in an efficient and productive manner.
• - Demonstrate professional behavior and provide excellent customer service in all interactions.
• - Observe and instruct student technologists and occasionally demonstrate job responsibilities to other associates as needed.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

• - Completion of a formal education program in radiography accredited by a mechanism acceptable to ARRT.

Credential/Licensure

• - Certification and registration as R.T. (R) ARRT.
• - State license in accordance with regulations in the state where work is performed.
• - Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (required for all new hires and transfers).

Substitution

• - New graduates of an accredited radiography program without ARRT primary certification must obtain certification and registry as R.T. (R) (ARRT) within one year of graduation from an approved program.

Skills & Abilities

• - Basic knowledge of radiographic equipment and imaging procedures.
• - Ability to effectively relate and communicate with internal and external customers.
• - Basic knowledge of radiology information systems (RIS, HIS, and PACS preferred as stated in source).
