Job summary

Lake West Medical Center is seeking a Radiology Tech Extender (PRN) to support Radiologic Technologists, assist with patient assessments, and manage patient flow in a busy imaging department. You will help with lifting, transport, patient prep, and data entry in PACS; follow safety protocols and CORE values.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED and less than 1 year of customer service experience. Per diem schedule, standing and lifting tasks, and travel up to 10% are involved.

Responsibilities

Assist Radiologic Technologist by completing basic patient assessments and preparing patients.

Ensure availability of procedural supplies, ordering and stocking.
Follow MRI and radiation safety policies and procedures and hospital core values.
Register and check-in patients and coordinate patient care with health care team.

Location: Lake West Medical Center in Willoughby, OH

A Brief Overview

Provides support and assistance to the Radiologic Technologist in caring for patients and family members during the imaging process, completing clerical/computer duties, lifting/transporting of patients, and following hospital and departmental policies, protocols, and SOPs (including Radiation and MRI safety).

What You Will Do

Assist the Radiologic Technologist by completing basic patient assessments including verifying patient orders, completing patient questionnaires, patient preparation and instruction. Communication with other members of the health care team to help coordinate patient care.
Facilitate patient care including, lifting, transport, chaperone and monitoring of patients.
Assist with Radiology computer information and data entry including PAC system.
Ensure the adequate availability of procedural supplies to include ordering and stocking patient care supply item.
Follow hospital initiative in order to meet patient satisfaction goals.
Follow MRI and radiation safety policies and procedures
Follow hospital and department Core Values, SOPs, policies, and standards
Register and check-in patients
Communicate with other members of the health care team to help coordinate patient care

Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
