Job Description

The Radiology Technical Aide performs routine duties including clerical, non-technical, and patient-related functions. Responsibilities include assisting radiologists, technologists, nurses, and other staff, as well as providing healthcare services such as patient check-in, preparation, procedure assistance, and transportation. The aide may work across various imaging sections and modalities based on operational needs.

Key responsibilities:

• Interact professionally with co-workers, visitors, and staff, embodying Jefferson's values.
• Assist in radiology rooms by providing blankets, bedpans, clothing changes, etc., and support technologists as needed.
• Inspect and restock supplies and linens, ensuring adequate inventory and preparing examination rooms.
• Support front office registrars and film room staff; perform special projects and cleanup tasks.
• Train new transporters/escorts in patient care techniques and ensure proper documentation.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Competencies

• Excellent interpersonal skills for effective interaction with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
• Physical ability to lift, position patients, and assist with transfers using beds, wheelchairs, or stretchers.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and privacy.

Minimum Education, Certifications, and Experience

• High school diploma or GED; knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Experience or training sufficient to perform duties; previous medical office experience desirable.
• CPR certification required.
