Job Description

The Radiology Technical Aide performs a variety of routine duties including clerical, non-technical, and patient-related functions. The Radiology Technical Aide assists radiologists, technologists, nurses, and other clinical and support staff, providing a broad range of healthcare services such as patient check-in, preparation for visits, assistance with procedures, and patient transportation. The position may involve working in various imaging sections, assisting multiple radiology modalities, and supporting clinical services as needed.

Responsibilities include:

• Interacting professionally with co-workers, visitors, and staff, embodying Jefferson's values.
• Assisting in radiological rooms by providing blankets, bedpans, clothing changes, etc., and supporting technologists.
• Inspecting and replenishing stock and linen in patient care areas, ensuring adequate inventory of supplies, and preparing examination rooms.
• Providing backup assistance to front office registrars and film room staff, and performing special projects and cleanup tasks as assigned.
• Training new transporters/escorts in patient care techniques and obtaining necessary patient documentation prior to leaving the nursing floor.
• Performing other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

• Excellent interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
• Physical ability to lift and position patients and assist with transfers using beds, wheelchairs, or stretchers.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet objectives and deadlines.
• Maintaining patient confidentiality and privacy.

Minimum Education, Certifications, and Experience:

• High school diploma or GED; medical terminology knowledge preferred.
• Relevant training and/or experience to perform duties.
• Previous medical office experience is desirable.
• CPR certification is required.
