Radiology Tech Associate - FT 72 hours biweekly - overnight position (3 12-hour shifts, Wed-Fri 7p-730a)

Job Description

The Radiology Technical Aide performs a variety of routine duties including clerical, non-technical, and patient-related functions. They assist radiologists, technologists, nurses, and other clinical and support staff, providing health care services such as patient check-in, preparation, assistance with procedures, and transport. The Radiology Technical Aide may work in various imaging sections, assist multiple radiology modalities, and/or clinical services based on operational needs.

Responsibilities of Radiology Tech Associates include:

1. Interacting with co-workers, visitors, and staff in line with Jefferson's values.
2. Assisting in radiological rooms by providing blankets, bedpans, clothing changes, etc., and supporting technologists.
3. Inspecting and replenishing stock and linens in patient care areas, maintaining inventory of supplies, and preparing examination rooms.
4. Providing backup to front office registrars and film room staff, and performing special projects and cleanup tasks.
5. Training new transporters/escorts in patient care techniques and procuring patient documentation before leaving nursing floors.
6. Performing other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

1. Excellent interpersonal skills for effective interaction with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
2. Physical ability to lift, position patients, and assist with transfers using beds, wheelchairs, or stretchers.
3. Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet objectives and deadlines.
4. Maintaining patient confidentiality and privacy.

Minimum Education, Certifications, and Experience:

1. High school diploma or GED; knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
2. Relevant training and/or experience to perform duties.
3. Previous medical office experience is preferred.
4. CPR certification is required.
