Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Outpatient Imaging in Greensboro, NC seeks a Radiology Technologist Assistant who is compassionate, patient-focused, and ready to support our imaging team in a fast-paced setting.

You will assist with patient care, prepare imaging rooms, help ensure smooth patient flow, and maintain accurate records. Requires a high school diploma, BLS within 60 days, and phlebotomy/MA experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 60 days of hire.
• One year of experience as a trained phlebotomist or medical assistant is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet and prepare patients for imaging procedures.
• Assist radiologic technologists with patient care and exam prep.
• Assist with IV placement under supervision per state regulations.
• Review histories, verify orders, and maintain accurate documentation.
• Explain procedures and provide excellent patient care.
• Coordinate patient flow to minimize wait times.
• Prepare imaging rooms and maintain supplies.
• Update patient records in RIS and PACS.
• Collaborate with technologists and referring offices.

POSITION DETAILS

• Position Status: Full-Time Flex
• Schedule: Thursday–Saturday, 8:00 AM–8:00 PM
• Location: Greensboro, NC

POSITION SUMMARY

As a Radiology Technologist Assistant, you will support our imaging team by assisting with patient care, maintaining efficient patient flow, preparing imaging rooms, and helping ensure a positive patient experience.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Greet, identify, and prepare patients for imaging procedures.
• Assist radiologic technologists with patient care and exam preparation.
• Assist with IV placement under appropriate supervision and in accordance with state regulations.
• Review patient histories, verify physician orders, and maintain accurate documentation.
• Explain procedures, answer questions, and provide exceptional patient care.
• Coordinate patient flow to minimize wait times and support efficient operations.
• Prepare imaging rooms, maintain supplies, and ensure a clean, safe environment.
• Update patient records in RIS and PACS as appropriate.
• Collaborate with technologists, referring offices, and other team members.

Requirements

EXPERIENCE:

• One year as a trained Phlebotomist and/or Medical Assistant experience preferred.

EDUCATION:

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

• BLS certification required within 60 days of hire.

SKILLS/ABILITIES:

• Ability to work efficiently as an extension of certified/registered staff or licensed independent practitioner.
• Ability to multitask.
• Ability to provide documentation accurately and concisely.
• Demonstrates understanding of human anatomy and medical terminology.
• Knowledge of computer applications, including information and billing systems, keyboard input, digital archiving, and retrieving of data.
