Job summary

A leading clinic in San Antonio seeks an RT Assistant. In this role, you will assist with patient preparation for radiologic procedures and maintain the organization of the radiology suite. Applicants should hold a high school diploma or equivalent and must obtain a Radiology Technologist license within 90 days of hire.

Job description

DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Prepares patients for radiologic procedures under the supervision of a licensed Radiology Technologist (RT).
  • Assists with positioning patients and setting up radiographic equipment in accordance with safety and procedural protocols.
  • RT Assistants are strictly prohibited from taking or "shooting" X-rays independently. Any violation of this policy may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination.
  • Maintains cleanliness and organization of the radiology suite, including equipment sanitization and infection control.
  • Supports with maintaining patient records, daily logbooks, and other documentation as directed by the supervising RT.
  • Assists with entering charges for X-ray and casting procedures.
  • Performs data entry and scans medical records into the EMR system.
  • Maintains radiographic supplies and communicates ordering needs to appropriate personnel.
  • Assists with clinical duties as needed and as directed by supervisors or licensed staff.
  • Will receive training on how to assist with and complete orthopedic casting procedures in accordance with clinic standards. License Requirement: Candidates must obtain their Radiology Technologist license within 90 days of hire. Failure to obtain the license within this timeframe will result in reassignment to a different role or termination of employment.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Enrollment in or completion of a radiologic technology training program preferred.

EXPERIENCE: One year of experience in a medical or orthopedic clinic preferred.

Other Requirements: Must always work under the direct supervision of a licensed Radiology Technologist. Must adhere to all safety regulations and clinic protocols.

ABILITIES: Must demonstrate excellent communication, organizational, and teamwork skills. Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and show initiative within scope of role.
