Responsibilities

• Receive patients, position patients for treatment, and confer with the Radiation Oncologist and Dosimetrist regarding treated volumes; simulate and prepare accessories as needed.
• Oversee daily treatment operations; ensure correct positioning and delivery of treatments as prescribed.
• Perform CT simulation for patients and ensure all simulation documentation and machine setup are properly completed.

Spectrum Healthcare Resources has an opportunity for a civilian Radiographic Technologist (CT Tech) at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville, TN.

Contract Position Offers

• Perform all aspects of radiation therapy delivery and assist in administrative functions within the Radiation Oncology Clinic, as needed. Accountable to the Chief of Radiation Oncology.

Duties Include, But Not Limited To

• Receive patients, explain treatment procedures, position patients, obtain patient contours, and confer with the Radiation Oncologist and Dosimetrist regarding the volumes to be treated. Simulate treatment, mark patient’s skin, and prepare specialized, tailor‑made accessories such as bolus, blocks, immobilization devices, and compensating filters.
• Oversee treatment and evaluate overall daily treatment operations. Ensure the correct position and alignment of fields, as simulated, and that all treatments are delivered as prescribed by Radiation Oncologist.
• Perform computerized tomography (CT) simulation for all patients. Check operating parameters of radiation therapy simulators, treatment system, and linear accelerators to ensure compatibility of simulation set‑up and treatment machine set‑up. Ensure all simulation documentation is properly completed and filed. Assist Dosimetrist during patient setup to record radiation therapy treatment parameters in treatment charts.

Position Requirements

• Degree/Education: Graduate from a JRCERT‑accredited radiation therapist training program and a current certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• BLS Certification.
