Job summary

Job description

• Determination of appropriate radiological technique and position for patient using immobilization and support devices.
• 1)Positions patient, adjusts equipment, secures and immobilizes support devices as needed to tactfully perform procedures.
• 2)Determines appropriate radiographic technique based on anatomy and patients condition to obtain quality films for the radiologists.
• 3)Secures history from patient regarding reason for prescribed test and records on appropriate form for the radiologist to review.
• Operation of advanced and sophisticated radiology equipment.
• 1)Assists radiologists with procedures to include the more advanced and specialty procedures (i.e., basic special procedures, QA assignments as assigned, etc.) requiring additional experience and knowledge.
• Adherence to all accepted safety standards and practices to ensure patient safety and quality patient care.
• 1)Uses universal precautions in daily performance of procedures.
• 2)Maintains compliance with established safety standards to protect patients and staff at all time (i.e., appropriate patient shielding, etc.)
• 4)Maintains supplies and cleanliness for assigned room on a daily basis.
• 5)Administers CPR as necessary.
• 6)Assures accuracy of examination performed and requisition.
• 7)Familiar with MSDS information pertaining to chemicals used in the department.

Ability to work under stressful conditions, in difficult situations. May be exposed to hazardous materials and life-threatening diseases. Ability to work rotating shifts during Centers hours of operation.
• If position has direct patient care or direct patient contact the following lifting requirement supersedes any previous lifting requirement effective 06/01/2015. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other associate, when available. Unique patient lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case‑case basis.
