The candidate should be enrolled in an accredited Radiologic Technology program, be in the second year, and maintain BLS certification. The position may require weekend, evening, and holiday work, with opportunities to engage inclinical training

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited Radiologic Technology program, second year student.
• Maintains certification in BLS.
• Enrolled in clinical training.
• Personal computer skills.
• Good verbal communication skills.
• Ability to follow instructions given by technologist.

Responsibilities

• Operates diagnostic imaging equipment under the supervision of a radiologic technologist.
• Determines how the technique selections affect optimal image quality.
• Follows policies and procedures.
• Assists Radiologic Technologist in performing duties as well as helps move patients.
• Ability to navigate online resources pertinent to job responsibilities.
• Display critical thinking and decision-making skills.
• Ability to access entire facility; communicate with others; lift/move patients; push/pull wheelchairs/stretchers; stand for long periods.
• Demonstrates skills appropriate to ages, culture, and needs of patient population served.
• May work weekends, evenings, and holidays.

The Radiology Student Tech will perform diagnostic imaging procedures on patients while adhering to radiology and safety protocols under the supervision of a Radiologic Technologist.

Responsibilities

• Operates diagnostic imaging equipment under the supervision of a radiologic technologist.
• Determines how the technique selections affect optimal image quality.
• Follows policies and procedures.
• Assists Radiologic Technologist in performing duties as well as helps move patients.
• Ability to navigate online resources pertinent to job responsibilities.
• Display critical thinking and decision-making skills.
• Ability to access entire facility; ability to communicate with other individuals; visual acuity; ability to lift and move patients; push and pull wheelchairs and stretchers; ability to withstand extensive standing, stooping, bending, squatting or sitting; ability to push/pull and/or operate heavy machines/equipment; ability to perform repetitive tasks.
• Demonstrates the skills and competency appropriate to the ages, culture, developmental stages, and special needs of the patient population served.
• May work weekends, evenings, and holidays.
