Baptist Health Louisville in Louisville, KY is seeking a second-year Radiologic Technologist student to perform static X-ray exams under supervision in a high-paced environment.

You will verify orders, maintain ALARA standards, operate EPIC and EI systems, and collaborate with radiology staff to produce high-quality images and ensure proper documentation. You will work approximately 20 hours per week, evenings and weekends, with rotating holidays.

Formación

• Must be a 2nd year student in an AMA-approved Radiologic Technologist program.
• Must hold a KBMIRT license.
• Must obtain BLS certification within 90 days of hire.

Responsabilidades

• Verify orders, verify patient name/birth date and history.
• Follow department protocol for all exams.
• Work with transport and nursing units to coordinate patient exams.
• Continuously monitor the patient throughout the exam.
• Utilize ALARA for all exams.
• Produce quality images for Radiologist review.
• Prepare images and record image release in the electronic health record.
• Verify images archived in PACS.
• Send images to tele-radiology service after hours as instructed.
• Effectively use the EPIC and EI systems.
• Complete studies and EPIC related documentation.
• Make studies new in EI.
• Apply appropriate problem-solving skills according to type.
• Handle problems in an efficient and professional manner.
• Work to solve process problems.
• Enlist help from the Technologist, Lead tech, Coordinator, Clinical Manager, and Director informed of problems and resolutions.
• Report all equipment malfunctions to the proper personnel.

Job Description:

Second year students interested in working in a high pace Xray environment

Job Summary

Provide health care services applying static only x-rays to assist diagnosis and treatment. Performs radiographic procedures, computer processing and related techniques, producing images for the interpretation by or at the request of a licensed independent practitioner. Exercises professional judgment in performance of service and maintains a demeanor complimentary to medical ethics. Recognizes various patient conditions in order to provide appropriate patient care to ensure successful completion of the exam or procedure. All under the guidance of a Registered Radiologic Technologist.

Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions

• Documents all incidents related to patient care in the electronic health record (example-incident reports, medications given, etc.).
• Follow department protocol for all exams.
• Works with transport and nursing units to coordinate patient exams.

• Produce quality images for the Radiologist’s review.
• Prepares images and records image release in electronic health record.

• Completes studies and EPIC related documentation.
• Makes studies new in EI.

Minimum Education, Experience, Training and Licensures Required

• Must be a 2nd year student of a Radiologic Technologist training program approved by the AMA
• KBMIRT license
• Must obtain Basic Life Support (BLS)-American Heart Association within 90 days of hire
