Description:Assists the radiologist in performing invasive diagnostic techniques specialized to maternal fetal ultrasound processes.Provides standardization and training to residents regarding these exams.Consults with patients and evaluates any contraindications, such as medications or insufficient patient preparation.Performs the ultrasound procedure under general or direct supervision, as defined by the procedure and/or physician.Conducts essential maternal-fetal ultrasound examinations, such as detailed anatomical evaluations and complete fetal echocardiograms.Participates in growth assessment and fetal well-being evaluations, including biophysical profiles and maternal/fetal Doppler assessments.Performs needle procedure guidance and examinations of maternal pelvic anatomy, including transvaginal cervical assessments.Utilizes advanced diagnostic 3D/4D techniques as required.Records anatomical, pathological, and physiological data for interpretation by a physician.Assists the supervising physician with invasive procedures as required.Analyzes sonography findings throughout the course of the examination to ensure a comprehensive exam is completed.Recognizes situations or abnormalities that require direct observation of the real-time scan by the radiologist.Images structures while simultaneously obtaining Doppler signals and recording images along with patient information for interpretation.Advises the radiologist and/or referring OB provider of results from examinations and provides preliminary information regarding diagnostic evaluations.
