Job summary

Geisinger in Wilkes-Barre is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to perform standardized radiographic and fluoroscopic examinations and operate imaging equipment in a clinical setting.

The role requires careful patient positioning, adherence to exposure techniques, and collaboration with physicians; you will also participate in student education and quality assurance activities within the department.

Qualifications

• Graduate from Specialty Training Program in Radiologic Technology.
• Proficient in radiographic and fluoroscopic techniques.
• Ability to assist physicians and maintain records.
• Knowledge of QA/QC procedures and student education.

Responsibilities

• Performs standardized radiological radiographic and fluoroscopic examinations utilizing proper patient position, identification and exposure techniques.
• Knowledgeable in operation of all equipment within modality.
• Sets up and adjusts immobilization and radiation protective equipment and devices.
• Reviews and analyzes patient body size, thickness, age, physical condition, and suspected pathology in performing examinations.
• Assists physician with various procedures.
• Reports equipment malfunctions and the need for adjustments or repairs.
• Maintains related records and notations.
• Assists in Quality Assurance/Quality Control procedures as required.
• Participates in the educational training of students.
