Job summary

University of Rochester is seeking a Radiology Specialist Assistant to provide primary health care services in medical imaging under physician supervision. You will perform a broad range of radiology diagnostic and interventional procedures and assist with patient assessment and management.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree, 5 years of technologist experience, CB RPA certification, NY radiographer registration, ACLS, and NYS Radiologic Specialist Assistant licensure eligibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of experience as a registered Technologist.
• Completion of educational program recognized by the Certification Board of Radiology Practitioner Assistants (CBRPA).
• Certified by the CBRPA or be considered eligible for the CBRPA certification examination.
• Maintenance of an active radiographer registration status.
• Certification in Advanced Life Support (ACLS).
• Obtain and maintain registration by the State of New York as a Radiologic Specialist Assistant under Title 8, Article 131-C, Section 6548, Education Law and Part 60 of the New York State Education Department Commissioner’s Regulations.

Responsibilities

• Provides primary health care services in medical imaging with physician supervision.
• Under supervision, exercises autonomy in decision making in the role of a primary health care provider with regard to patient assessment and management.
• Performs a broad range of radiology diagnostic and interventional procedures.
• Evaluates procedures and determines where skills will be best utilized.
• Obtains consent for and administers radiologic medications and contrast media under physician supervision.
