Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of experience as a registered Technologist.
• CBRPA certification or eligibility for the certification examination.
• Maintain an active radiographer registration status.
• Certification in Advanced Life Support (ACLS).
• Registration as a NY Radiologic Specialist Assistant under Title 8, Article 131-C, Sec. 6548.

Responsibilities

• Provides primary health care services in medical imaging under physician supervision.
• Performs radiology procedures including fluoroscopy, ultrasound, CT, biopsies, drainages and interventional imaging.
• Obtains clinical history and prepares technical reports for physician review.
• Assists in patient management and prescriptive powers for imaging procedures.
• Obtains consent and administers contrast media under physician supervision.
• Communicates radiologist findings to referring physicians with proper documentation.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Technology

5 years of experience as a registered Technologist

Active radiographer registration

ACLS certification

StateNY Radiologic Specialist Assistant registration (or eligible)
