Job summary

ARMStaffing is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist to perform imaging and therapy, communicating clearly with patients and staff. You will ensure patient understanding and cooperation throughout procedures and explain the equipment used during exams.

The role requires NMTCB CNMT or ARRT NM certification, and a Maine state radiologic technologist license. BLS is preferred. Schedule is Monday–Friday, 8 hours per day, with no weekends or on-call duties.

Qualifications

• CNMT by NMTCB or RT NM by ARRT certification.
• Maine state license for nuclear medicine radiology is required.
• BLS Healthcare Provider certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Educate patients about procedures, equipment and exams.
• Prepare, administer, store, and dispose of radiopharmaceuticals per protocols.
• Monitor patient condition and respond to changes as needed.
• Prepare equipment and imaging parameters; ensure safety standards.
• Perform quality control and troubleshoot equipment issues.
• Position patients and conduct imaging procedures.
• Analyze results and address image quality issues.
• Enter, transmit, and report scan results.

Nuclear Medicine Technologist

Job Description

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist performs nuclear medicine imaging and therapy, adhering to the scope and standards of practice, as well as the policies and values of the organization. This role is responsible for ensuring patient understanding and cooperation throughout procedures, and effectively communicates the process and equipment used during exams.

Responsibilities

• Review patient history and physician's orders.
• Educate patients regarding procedures, equipment, and exams.
• Order, prepare, administer, store, and dispose of radiopharmaceuticals and medications according to protocols.
• Monitor patient condition continually and report/respond to changes in status as necessary.
• Prepare equipment and supplies, selecting appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters.
• Implement safety standards and perform quality control procedures on equipment.
• Troubleshoot and report equipment malfunctions.
• Position patients and perform imaging procedures.
• Analyze results and identify issues with image quality, taking appropriate actions to resolve those issues.
• Enter, transmit, and report scan results.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Certification as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) or registered as a Technologist (RT) with nuclear medicine (NM) certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• Maine State Radiologic Technologist license for Nuclear Medicine is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification is preferred.

Schedule

This position requires an 8-hour shift from Monday to Friday, with no weekends, evenings, or call responsibilities.
