Job summary

Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital is seeking an MRI technologist to operate the MRI scanner safely and efficiently, under supervision, and to support patient care in the radiology department. The role involves coordinating with the Magnetic Resonance Supervisor and maintaining workflow for timely imaging and invoicing.

Requirements include graduation from an approved MRI program, an Associate’s Degree, ARRT MRI registry with 1-year proof for new grads, and current BCLS.

Qualifications

  • Graduated from an approved Magnetic Resonance Imaging program.
  • Possess an Associate’s Degree.
  • Maintain a current ARRT registry in MRI; new grads must obtain within 1 year of hire.
  • Maintain a current BCLS certification.

Responsibilities

  • Review MRI orders for exam and protocol.
  • Perform venipuncture and administer IV contrast as needed.
  • Screen patients for MRI safety and ensure proper positioning and coil placement.
  • Control access to MRI zones.
  • Prepare and clean equipment and scanner for each exam.
  • Perform daily QA on MRI scanner.
  • Enter charges into EMAR for all exams.
  • Ensure exams are available on PACS for interpretation in a timely manner.
