Job summary

Origin Travel Nurses in Wilmington, NC, is seeking an experienced MRI Technologist to operate MRI scanners for patient diagnosis. Responsibilities include preparing patients, administering contrast media, and ensuring safety throughout imaging procedures.

Job Description

The MRI Technologist will operate magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scanners to obtain images of the patient's body for diagnosis. Responsibilities include ensuring patient safety, preparing and administering contrast media, and adhering to isolation precautions and PPE standards. Technologists will float to affiliated facilities as needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain MRI equipment while ensuring patient comfort and safety.
• Prepare patients for imaging procedures, including obtaining medical history and explaining the process.
• Administer contrast media as required, following protocols for isolation and safety.
• Evaluate images for quality and completeness and report any issues to the radiologist.
• Participate in ongoing training and education to maintain competency in MRI technology.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum 1 year of MRI Technologist experience required.
• Certifications: BLS, ARRT in MRI.
• Experience with GE systems preferred.
