Job summary

Mayo Clinic is seeking a part-time Medical Assistant to support ambulatory care teams in the Phoenix area. The role requires direct and indirect patient care under physician supervision, with delegation from R.N. or physician as needed. Strong communication and teamwork are essential, along with EMR system proficiency.

Arizona-based candidates should have a MA diploma or degree and be able to work daytime hours with flexibility for shifts. BLS is preferred and certification requirements apply.

Qualifications

• Arizona: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Graduate from a Medical Assistant diploma or associate degree program.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and teamwork experience.
• Computer proficiency with EMR systems.
• Daytime hours with flexibility to meet staffing needs.
• Ability to adapt to unpredictable situations.

Responsibilities

• Perform assigned tasks of direct and indirect care in the ambulatory setting.
• Work under the direct supervision of a physician (medical acts) and as a member of the health care team.
• Accept appropriate delegation from the RN or physician in meeting patient needs.
• Carry out activities in accordance with the patient care plan and organizational policies.
• Operate within the scope of practice for unlicensed health care personnel.
