Job summary

Dallam Hartley Counties Hospital District seeks an experienced radiology leader to plan, organize, and direct radiology services across the department. You will supervise staff, ensure quality reporting, and maintain essential equipment and supplies while upholding patient safety and regulatory compliance.

The role requires ARRT/ARCRT certification and a Texas license, with at least three years as a Registered Technologist and supervisory experience preferred.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
  • ARRT or ARCRT certification and Texas license required.
  • Three years experience as a Registered Technologist.

  • Training in CT Scanning and Ultrasound desired.

  • Ensure quality assurance and timely reporting of results.
  • Maintain stock levels and equipment; oversee procurement and storage of radiologic supplies.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to safety/principles for patient care and infection control.
  • Coordinate budget preparation and monitor resource utilization.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state and other regulations governing radiologic operations.

Job Description

Plans, organizes and directs the provision of radiology service for patients of the hospital. Supervises department personnel and all functions including radiology, nuclear medicine, ultrasound, and Prison Facility radiographic procedures. OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens Class I.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Under the guidance of a Radiologist or other physicians, provides radiology procedures for patients.
  • Provides procedures as directed by a physician.
  • Provides radiological and ultrasound services.
  • Establishes procedures to assure quality of services and timely reporting of results.
  • Oversees the procedure performed by staff members.
  • Provides care appropriate for the neonate and the pediatric, adolescent and geriatric patients served based on demonstrated knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span.
  • Assesses and interprets data on neonate and the pediatric, adolescent and geriatric patients' status to identify patients' requirements relative to their age-specific needs and provides care needed as stipulated in departmental policy.
  • Provides for maintaining stock levels of supplies and for obtaining and maintaining required equipment.
  • Establishes a system for the procurement, storage, control and issue of radiologic supplies.
  • Keeps abreast of changes in technology and recommends equipment to be purchased or modification of existing equipment.
  • Provides for the maintenance of equipment including preventive and periodic maintenance.
  • Provides for quality assurance and improvement.
  • Develops the quality assurance plan and determines areas to be monitored.
  • Informs departmental personnel of quality assurance activities.
  • Provides reports and results to the hospital Quality Assurance Committee.
  • Submits the recommended criteria for specific procedures to the Medical Staff for approval.
  • Initiates departmental policies, procedures and practices consistent with hospital policy.
  • Establishes management control procedures to create efficient and effective provision of radiology services.
  • Supervises and coordinates department budget preparation and monitors the utilization of approved budgeted resources.
  • Assures compliance with federal, state and other regulations or standards pertaining to radiologic operations on a continuing basis.
  • Maintains confidentiality while working with confidential matters on a daily basis.
  • Provides service direct to patients while maintaining a positive patient relations atmosphere.
  • Follows aseptic procedures and precautions when involved in direct patient contact or handling potentially infections materials.
  • Interacts with medical staff members and other department managers on a continuous basis.
  • Follows safety guidelines and policies for the Hospital.
Job Qualifications
Education
  • Graduate of an accredited program in Radiologic Technology. Associate or Bachelor of Science degree preferred.
Job Related Skills
  • Leadership and management abilities and effective oral and written communication skills.
Licensure, Registry or Certification
  • ARRT or ARCRT required and must have a current Texas License.
Experience
  • Three years experience as a Registered Technologist in a medical setting.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Training in CT Scanning and Ultrasound desired.
Physical and Mental Requirements
  • Duties of the position require moderate standing, walking, twisting, reaching and handling of instruments and equipment.
  • Lifting up to 50 pounds and occasional heavy lifting, including lifting and supporting patients who may suddenly become weak or helpless.
