Description
  • Consistently observes patients before, during, and after procedures.
  • Makes and uses appropriate immobilization devices.
  • Safely operates all equipment and immediately reports malfunctions.
  • Locates all emergency switches.
  • Demonstrates understanding of emergency procedures and radiation safety.
  • Assures that all data entered or retrieved from physician's orders and/or computer system is accurate.
  • Verifies accuracy prior to the procedure.
  • Reviews orders for diagnosis and prescriptions.
  • Appropriately schedules patient and department resources for services.
  • Performs all procedures according to protocol stated in the procedure manual, unless directed otherwise by a physician.
  • Presents completed procedures to physicians for interpretation.
  • Collaborates with staff members and physicians to assure delivery of optimal patient care at all times.
  • Demonstrates ability to revise department schedule and staff assignments to meet patient and physician needs.
  • Assumes responsibility for portions of the quality improvement program.
  • Understands all phases and keeps all documentation current and available.
  • Follows through with any problem areas.
  • Assists in the department orientation program as needed.
  • Assumes responsibility for training new staff.
  • Assists staff members in keeping the orientation program up to date.
  • Contributes to the development of educational needs of support staff and/or students.
  • Evaluates diagnostic procedures for appropriateness and takes corrective measures if needed.
  • Screens for previous procedures.
  • Demonstrates the ability to assist physicians with special procedures.
  • Able to perform all QC on equipment.
  • Keeps others informed of any changes.
  • Assumes responsibility for portions of the quality standards.
  • Effectively troubleshoots problems and obtains service as needed.
  • Actively retrieves comparison films from outside institutions.
  • Questions patients thoroughly regarding the location of previous films.
  • Greets patients by name and introduces self.
  • Provides patients with thorough explanations of procedures and efficiently performs procedures.
  • Uses good judgment with add-on cases to meet patient and department needs.
  • Understands safe and proper machine operation.
  • Knows machine emergency procedures and radiation safety procedures.
  • Demonstrates technical proficiency in producing diagnostic images.
  • Recognizes technical abnormalities and selects the appropriate techniques for each procedure.
  • Positions patients according to department protocol.
  • Prepares and stocks rooms for various exams.
  • Checks equipment between patients and orders supplies as needed.
  • Cleans rooms and equipment between patients, including waiting areas.
