Origin Travel Nurses seeks a Vascular Technologist for a 13-week contract in Morristown, NJ. The role involves preparing adult and geriatric patients for vascular ultrasound examinations and reporting any clinical changes to the RN or physician.

Responsibilities include performing upper/lower venous and arterial duplex exams, carotid and abdominal duplex studies, and documenting findings in the electronic medical record. BLS is required; RVT/RVS preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of specialized vascular ultrasound experience.
• Fully qualified Vascular Technologist.
• BLS certification required.
• RVT/RVS or CVT skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Document all procedures in the medical record.

Job description

This is a 13-week contract position for a Vascular Technologist caring for adult and geriatric patients during procedures. The successful candidate will prepare patients for examinations and report any clinical changes in patient condition to the RN or physician. Timely communication with NP, PA, or MD regarding STAT results and abnormal findings is essential. Documentation of all procedures, including the labeling and identification of studies and entering related information in the medical record, is required. The role also involves reporting equipment malfunctions, assisting with special assignments, cleaning work areas, and replenishing supplies while maintaining standards of performance with sterile procedures and infection prevention.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for vascular examinations.
• Perform vascular ultrasound procedures including:
  • Upper and lower venous duplex
  • Upper and lower arterial duplex
  • Carotid duplex
  • Abdominal duplex (renal, mesenteric, and portal exams)
  • Hemodialysis duplex
  • Arterial Doppler PVR
• Document all procedures accurately in the medical record.
• Report clinical changes in patient conditions to appropriate healthcare staff.
• Ensure compliance with sterile procedures and infection prevention protocols.

Schedule

The position is scheduled for Monday through Friday with varying shift times.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 5 years of specialized experience in vascular ultrasound.
• Must be a fully qualified Vascular Technologist.
• RVT/RVS certification preferred.
• BLS certification required.
• Demonstrated expertise in CVT technical skills preferred.
