Join a dynamic and growing outpatient and hospital-based practice in Southwest Georgia as an Interventional Radiologist. This opportunity offers a dedicated focus on interventional procedures, with a supportive team and a commitment to patient care. You'll be part of a well-established practice that values growth and development, providing a unique chance to engage in academic teaching while enjoying the vibrant community of Thomasville. With a rich arts scene and outdoor activities, this role not only offers professional fulfillment but also a high quality of life in a friendly environment.
This southwest GA health system is assisting a private Radiology practice in their search for a third board-certified/board-eligible Interventional Radiologist. This well-established and growing outpatient and hospital-based practice has three physicians and four physician extenders. The Interventional Radiologist will join a practice dedicated exclusively to IR, performing 100% interventional procedures.
The current practice includes two Interventional Radiologists and a general surgeon with a focus on vascular work such as bypass grafts, dialysis access, endarterectomy, and AAA repair.
The practice offers comprehensive clinical Vascular and Interventional Radiology services, with patients seen longitudinally in our physician-owned office building. The clinic operates five days a week and employs 16 full-time staff, including vascular sonographers, nurses, MAs, a scribe, receptionists, billers, schedulers, a referral coordinator, and a dialysis access coordinator.
Our IR services include PAD, AAA repair, carotid intervention, Interventional Oncology (Y90, TACE, ablation), UFE, PAE, venous thromboembolic disease interventions (PE, DVT), venous insufficiency treatments, vertebral augmentation (including SpineJack), dialysis access interventions, TIPS, and routine procedures like ports, G-tubes, biopsies, and drains. PICCs are managed by the hospital's PICC team, and routine CVLs are typically not performed by IR.
Call is on a 1 in 3 rotation at a Level-III Trauma Center. The ideal candidate will help manage the current workload, expand existing service lines, and develop new ones, fostering practice growth. We seek a highly motivated individual passionate about IR and practice development. The practice has been operational for over 15 years and continues to expand, with a partnership equity model.
This private practice has an academic component, with appointments as an Associate Professor at Florida State University College of Medicine, The Medical College of Georgia, and Philadelphia College of Medicine (Moultrie, GA). We also collaborate with the Archbold Medical Center Internal Medicine Residency. Teaching medical students and residents is encouraged but not mandatory.
