Job summary

Akumin is a leading outpatient radiology and oncology services provider nationwide. The Integration Engineer will design and govern enterprise interoperability systems that support imaging workflows, patient identity management, and cross-system data exchange within our radiology ecosystem.

You will work with HealthShare/IRIS or similar engines, implement data transformations (HL7 v2, FHIR, JSON/XML), and help ensure data fidelity across RIS, PACS, and EHR integrations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience developing or administering integration platforms such as InterSystems HealthShare, IRIS.
• Expertise in healthcare interoperability standards: HL7 v2, FHIR, CDA/CCD, JSON/XML mapping.
• Experience with DICOM workflows and DICOM-to-HL7 data transformation in radiology environments.
• Familiarity with Radiology Information Systems (Royal, eRAD, or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Build, configure, and maintain interfaces and data transformations using HL7, FHIR, and XML standards.
• Oversee and optimize HealthShare/IRIS engines for scalability and data fidelity.
• Implement and manage automation pipelines for interface deployment and testing.
• Document specifications, diagrams, and test plans for continuity.
• Architect and administer enterprise interoperability across RIS, PACS, and EHR integrations.
