Job Summary

Supervises technical and support staff in Radiology, operating various imaging equipment, troubleshooting procedures, and developing new techniques. Oversees MRI technologists' daily activities.

Essential Functions

  • Organizes patient flow, prioritizes procedures, and manages workload shifts.
  • Supervises complex procedures, ensuring efficiency and patient throughput.
  • Obtains medications, radiopharmaceuticals, or contrast agents as directed by licensed practitioners.
  • Educates staff on new procedures and updates.
  • Evaluates technical and support staff performance.
  • Documents equipment needs, physician requests, and operational issues.
  • Addresses physician or patient complaints promptly.
  • Maintains technical proficiency in system management and current modalities.
  • Troubleshoots equipment and procedural issues, coordinating with service engineers and physicians.
  • Performs quality control tests and makes necessary adjustments.

Physical Requirements

Includes frequent bending, twisting, kneeling, lifting up to 25 pounds, and standing for 50% of the time. Requires good distance vision and manual dexterity for procedures like venipuncture.

Education, Experience, and Certifications

High School Diploma or GED required. Completion of an AMA-approved Technology program, registry with NMTCB or ARRT, and supervisory experience required. Advanced certification in CT and Radiology preferred. At least 3 years of experience in data processing and tomographic applications. Knowledge of current technology and ability to perform in a high-tech environment.
