Job summary

Trinity Health Livonia is seeking an Imaging Student Extern in the X‑Ray department for a part-time, rotating shift. You will screen and image patients under supervision, ensuring safety and proper documentation while supporting radiology team workflows.

The role requires completion of year one in an accredited Radiologic Technologist program, current BLS, and progress toward ARRT certification; duration allows up to 18 months in this student role.

Qualifications

• Completion of the first year of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program and currently enrolled in the second year Radiologic Technologist program.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• 6 months after program completion to obtain ARRT (R) certification; role limited to 18 months.

Responsibilities

• Maintains good rapport and cooperative relationships with patients and staff.
• Screens patient for safety and appropriate exam history prior to imaging.
• Performs x-ray exams using proper technique and documentation in PACS.
• Participates in student education and meets program requirements.
• Promotes patient care aligned with Trinity Health Mission and values.
