Job summary

Trinity Health Livonia is seeking an Imaging Student Extern to assist in radiologic imaging within the X-Ray department. The role is part-time with a rotating shift, designed for students progressing through a Radiologic Technologist program.

You will work under the Radiology Team Leader and Radiologist to produce diagnostic images per department protocols. Responsibilities include patient positioning, ensuring safety, and documenting exam results in PACS.

Qualifications

• Completion of the first year of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program and currently enrolled in the second year Radiologic Technologist program.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Upon successful completion of the Radiologic Technology program, 6 months to pass ARRT (R) certification; incumbents may remain in this role for 18 months.

Responsibilities

• Maintain good rapport and cooperative relationships; identify problems and participate in their resolution.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and discuss information only with appropriate personnel.
• Perform in accordance with radiologist specifications and department protocols.
• Screen patients for safety and verify correct patient and exam details.
• Complete patient-related documentation and ensure study completion in PACS.
• Contribute to student education and meet program requirements.
