A leading healthcare provider in Chicago is seeking Attending Physicians for the Department of Radiology. This role involves supervising diagnostic imaging studies and requires an MD or DO degree, along with relevant certifications. The position offers a structured work schedule with no weekend duties, primarily focusing on body imaging services. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in diagnostic imaging and be able to interpret various imaging examinations.
Attending Physicians in the Department of Radiology are responsible for supervising and interpreting diagnostic imaging studies within the hospital system. This position primarily involves body imaging services, including CT, MRI, US, fluoroscopy, and general x-ray (chest, musculoskeletal, spine, etc.). Candidates should have wide and varied experience.
MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school or university.
Licensed physician in the State of Illinois or able to obtain licensure prior to employment.
Successful completion of an ACGME or AOA accredited Diagnostic Radiology Residency.
If currently in or recently completed fellowship training, passed the American Board of Radiology Step I Examination. Certification must be obtained after fulfilling practice requirements stipulated by the ABR or AOBR to maintain medical staff eligibility.
OR
Certification by the American Board of Radiology or the American Osteopathic Board of Radiology.
Additional requirements include:
Currently enrolled in or completed a body imaging fellowship or similar training as determined by the department Chair.
Possession or ability to obtain a Federal DEA certificate prior to starting employment.
Ability to interpret all types of body imaging examinations, including Prostate MRI and Abdominal/Pelvic MRI.
