Job description

Attending Physicians - Department of Radiology

Attending Physicians in the Department of Radiology are responsible for supervising and interpreting diagnostic imaging studies within the hospital system. This position primarily involves body imaging services, including CT, MRI, US, fluoroscopy, and general x-ray (chest, musculoskeletal, spine, etc.). Candidates should have wide and varied experience.

Qualifications:

1. MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school or university.

2. Licensed physician in the State of Illinois or able to obtain licensure prior to employment.

3. Successful completion of an ACGME or AOA accredited Diagnostic Radiology Residency.

4. If currently in or recently completed fellowship training, passed the American Board of Radiology Step I Examination. Certification must be obtained after fulfilling practice requirements stipulated by the ABR or AOBR to maintain medical staff eligibility.

OR

1. Certification by the American Board of Radiology or the American Osteopathic Board of Radiology.

Additional requirements include:

1. Currently enrolled in or completed a body imaging fellowship or similar training as determined by the department Chair.

2. Possession or ability to obtain a Federal DEA certificate prior to starting employment.

Desired Qualifications:

Ability to interpret all types of body imaging examinations, including Prostate MRI and Abdominal/Pelvic MRI.

Work Schedule and Additional Details:

• Hours: 8 am - 4 pm, with a half-hour unpaid lunch.
• No call or weekend work.
• Start date: February 6 through April 5, 2023, with an anticipated need for one radiologist.
• Productivity target: approximately 35 RVUs per day, based on academic radiologist standards.
• Compliance with employment standards, including onboarding, immunizations (COVID initial and booster, yearly influenza), etc.
