Job summary

McLaren Health Care in Michigan seeks a Per Diem Radiologic Technologist to perform diagnostic x-ray procedures under direct supervision. You will identify patients, review orders, and prepare them for examinations.

Responsibilities include ensuring image quality and proper film identification, recording requisitions, maintaining paperwork, and coordinating with staff. Weekend shifts are required with variable hours.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have completed a minimum of one year of two year accredited radiology training program.
• BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Identifies each patient and reviews requisition for consistency of examination ordered with clinical diagnosis and physician’s order.
• Prepares patient for examination and explains procedure while performing studies.
• Records pertinent data on radiologic requisition at all times.
• Upon completion of exam, reviews each exam for technical accuracy. Identifies anatomical orientation on all required images, and ensures proper film identification on all images. Consults with staff technologist when needed.
• Uses appropriate devices to obtain permanent record of examination.
• Assesses patient condition, ensures patient safety through proper use of restraint/support devices.
• Recognizes electronic equipment limitations.
• Maintains departmental paperwork.
• Performs other related duties as required and directed.

Education
