Job summary

Inova Fair Oaks Hospital is seeking a dedicated Radiologic Technologist Extern to join the team as a PRN position. The role focuses on acquiring and applying new skills while working under mentorship, progressing toward greater independence and decision-making ability.

The extern will adhere to radiography principles, operate within department protocols, and assist in ensuring examinations are optimized for interpretation.

Qualifications

• Education: High School or GED and current enrollment as a 2nd-year student in an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates acquisition and exercise of new skills, communicates with mentor and progresses toward greater independence.
• Performs at expected supervisor-level standards and adheres to department policies.
• Ensures examinations are optimized for accurate interpretation following radiography principles.
• Assists with radiography duties and adheres to department protocols.
