Job summary

ARMStaffing is seeking a Cardiac Sonographer for the day shift in the region. You will independently perform high-quality cardiac ultrasound procedures and assist physicians with invasive studies, while ensuring proper documentation and coding for billing.

The role requires two years of experience and RDCS or RDMS certification, plus BLS and PA Act 31/33/34/73 compliance. Shifts run Monday through Friday with occasional Saturday rotation; both inpatient and outpatient locations are used.

Qualifications

• Completion of formal training in an accredited ultrasound program or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience.
• RDCS or RDMS certification required.
• BLS certification mandatory.
• Compliance with Pennsylvania Act 31, 33, 34, and 73.

Responsibilities

• Perform Cardiac Ultrasound procedures including TTE, TEE, Stress Echo, and echo with contrast.
• Utilize ultrasound equipment effectively and demonstrate scanning technique proficiency.
• Obtain high-quality echocardiographic images following departmental standards.
• Assist physicians with invasive procedures in line with universal protocol.
• Explain procedures to patients to alleviate anxiety and ensure cooperation.
• Ensure exams are properly coded, identified for processing, and billed accurately.
• Review patient history and orders to apply departmental protocols.
• Document patient history in electronic records.

Cardiac Sonographer - Day Shift

Job Description

Independently performs high-quality imaging procedures, demonstrating the ability to recognize critical pathologies and utilize independent judgment and ingenuity. Responsible for the execution of various cardiac ultrasound procedures in compliance with the guidance of the Medical Director.

Responsibilities

• Perform Cardiac Ultrasound procedures including Transthoracic Echocardiography, Transesophageal Echocardiography, Stress Echocardiography, and Echo with contrast.
• Utilize ultrasound instrumentation effectively and demonstrate knowledge of equipment operations and scanning techniques.
• Obtain appropriate echocardiographic images adhering to departmental policies and industry standards.
• Assist physicians with invasive procedures, following universal protocol standards.
• Communicate clearly with patients, explaining procedures to alleviate fears and ensure cooperation.
• Ensure all completed exams are properly coded, identified for electronic processing, and charges entered accurately.
• Review patient history and physician orders to apply departmental protocols for optimal results.
• Document patient history in electronic records as required.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Completion of formal training in an accredited ultrasound program or equivalent experience.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience is required.
• Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) certification required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification mandatory.
• Compliance with Pennsylvania Act 31, 33, 34, and 73.

Schedule

Day shift from Monday to Friday, with Saturday rotation. Shifts start at 6:30 AM, 7:00 AM, or 7:30 AM. Call rotation approximately one weekday every other week and one weekend every six weeks, subject to change based on staffing needs. Both inpatient and outpatient locations on rotation.
