ARMStaffing is seeking a Travel Cardiac Sonographer for a 13-week assignment in Pittsburgh, PA. The role requires 36 hours weekly, with 12-hour night shifts, and travel compensation support.

The ideal candidate is a polysomnography-credentialed professional, with BRPT/NBRC/ABSM credentials, at least 2 years of experience, and current BLS and PA certifications.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a polysomnography program accredited by CAAHEP/CoARC/STAR-BRPT.
• Must hold BRPT/NBRC/ABSM sleep credentials.
• Minimum 2 years of clinical experience as sleep technologist or sonographer.
• Registered Polysomnographic Technologist or RRT certification required.
• BLS and PA Act 31/33/34/73 certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Sleep study preparation with proper patient identification.
• Sleep study setup with electrode/sensor application per AASM guidelines.
• Acquire in-center and out-of-center studies with focus on quality and patient care.
• Analyze and score sleep studies.
• Clean equipment and labs; restock supplies.
• Maintain monthly scoring competency to BRPT ISR requirements.

Registered Sleep Technologist - Night ShiftJob Description

A sleep technologist is a registered position who works under the direct supervision of the lead sleep technologist in partnership with department administrative and medical management. A registered sleep technologist can perform all basic sleep lab functions with regard to in-center and out-of-center sleep testing with therapeutic interventions and direct patient education.

Responsibilities

• Sleep study preparation, including review of patient chart, testing order, and proper patient identification.
• Sleep study set up, including application of electrodes and sensors according to AASM recommendations with explanation of testing procedures to patients.
• Perform all aspects of in-center and out-of-center study acquisition with a focus on quality, while delivering exceptional patient care.
• Analyze and score sleep studies.
• Clean equipment and patient rooms; perform routine equipment maintenance and care; inventory and restock lab supplies.
• Demonstrate continued scoring competency with adequate completion of monthly AASM ISR requirements.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Graduate from an education program in polysomnography accredited by CAAHEP, CoARC, or a STAR designated program through BRPT (like ASTEP) required.
• Sleep credential from the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT), the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) or the American Board of Sleep Medicine (ABSM).
• 2 years of experience required.
• Registered Polysomnographic Technologist or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
• Basic Life Support (BLS), PA Act 31, PA Act 33, PA Act 34, and PA Act 73 certifications are required.

Schedule

This position operates on a Night Shift schedule, requiring a commitment of 10 hours per shift for 4 days a week.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
