Job summary

Taylor Health Care Group is looking for a CT / Radiologic Technologist in Hawkinsville, Georgia. This part-time role involves providing optimum quality patient radiographs and CT images while ensuring patient safety and proper equipment operation.

Candidates should possess at least a high school diploma and at least a 2-year degree from an accredited Radiologic Technology Program. A.R.R.T. registration and minimum 1-year hospital experience in Radiography are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1-year prior experience in a hospital setting for Radiography.
• Some experience with CT scan is desired, but not necessary.

Responsibilities

• Perform job duties to provide optimum quality patient radiographs and CT images.
• Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures and obtaining medical histories.
• Position patients correctly while operating the CT scanner.
• Ensure proper operation of CT scanner and evaluate radiographs for quality.
• Document patient information & send exams to PACS.
• Administer contrast media as needed.
• Initiate life support measures when necessary.

Job description

CT / Radiologic Technologist Hawkinsville, Georgia 31036

Performs the necessary job duties to provide optimum quality patient radiographs and CT images with ALARA radiation exposure.

Core Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures, answering questions, and obtaining medical histories.
• Position patients correctly while operating the CT scanner & diagnostic radiographic equipment.
• Operate other equipment/devices as appropriate – e.g. power injector for CT contrast administration.
• Ensure proper operation of CT scanner.
• Calculate exposure factors for optimum radiographic quality with lowest absorption dose.
• Practice radiation protection for patients, family members, other staff & self.
• Evaluate radiographs for technical quality and demonstration of desired anatomy.
• Document patient information & send exams to PACS.
• Administration of contrast media as needed.
• Initiate life support measures to patients when necessary.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds correctly.
• Maintain patient records.
• Assume responsibility for assigned area.
• Be able to work alone.
• Promote a climate conducive to learning for co‑workers.
• Rotate work schedules within the department and/or cover other shifts as required.
• Assist and/or transport patients using a wheelchair or stretcher as conditions warrant.

Job Requirements

• Education – High School Diploma; Minimum 2‑year degree from an accredited Radiologic Technology Program or College.
• A.R.R.T. registered in Radiography and Computed Tomography (CT) or CT registry eligible.
• Training/Experience – Minimum 1‑year prior experience in a hospital setting for Radiography. Some experience with CT scan is desired, but not necessary; we will cross‑train the right candidate.
