Job summary

Radiology - CT Tech position in Tacoma, Washington. The role involves performing CT scans for inpatient, outpatient, and emergency cases using four GE scanners in a Level II trauma setting. Must have ARRT CT and ARRT Radiologic Technologist certifications, BLS, and at least two years of CT experience.

The shift is 10-hour days, Monday-Thursday, from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, with limited on-call. Orientation is provided, and the department supports collaboration with radiologists and emergency staff

Qualifications

  • Trauma patient care in Level II facility.

Responsibilities

  • Perform CT scans for inpatient, outpatient, and ED cases.
  • Operate GE CT scanners; manage IV starts when possible.
  • Assist radiologists and coordinate with Epic/McKesson systems.

Description:This position involves performing CT scans for inpatient, outpatient, and emergency cases.There are four GE scanners available for use, with two designated for inpatient use, one for outpatient, and one in the emergency department.The average patient volume includes 12-14 outpatient scans per day, with procedures performed on one machine allowing for approximately 10 patients a day.The emergency department machine may see an average of 40 scans between shifts.The department utilizes the Epic electronic medical records and McKesson for picture archiving and communication.A radiology supervisor or lead tech is always available as a resource during shifts.Radiologists are in-house during the day and on-call after hours.Starting IVs is preferred but not required.The shift schedule is Monday through Thursday from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM with minimal call.Weekend and holiday shifts will rotate per contract.Scrubs are provided.The department has a one-week orientation to ensure support and guidance for new staff.The hospital can cancel up to four shifts per 13-week assignment.
