Job summary

ARMStaffing is seeking a Radiologic Technologist for a 13-week contract at a Craig, CO facility. The role requires ARRT in Radiology (or eligible within 12 months) and demonstrated proficiency in at least two imaging modalities.

You will practice ALARA standards, perform quality control, and support department operations. The position involves patient education, documentation, scheduling flexibility, and potential cross-training in other imaging modalities.

Qualifications

  • ARRT registration in Radiology or eligible within 1 year.
  • Proficiency with imaging modalities and radiation safety.
  • Good working knowledge of RIS/HIS and PACS systems.

Job description

The Radiologic Technologist is responsible for quality and efficient completion of radiologic procedures for diagnostic interpretation, providing patient education, quality patient care, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities
  • Demonstrates advanced knowledge of imaging procedures in at least two modalities.
  • Practices radiation safety and adheres to ALARA standards.
  • Inquires about pregnancy status of female patients and protects them from harmful radiation.
  • Performs quality control per manufacturer’s recommendations.
  • Operates equipment in accordance with manufacturer’s guidelines.
  • Conducts exams following Imaging Department protocols or those established with the Radiologist.
  • Provides clerical support and assists with patient transportation as needed.
  • Manages incoming calls and accurately records messages.
  • Assists in training or cross-training imaging staff members.
  • Completes equipment downtime forms and promptly informs management of issues.
  • Displays flexibility in rearranging schedules to cover emergencies and absences.
  • Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Notifies the Radiologist of all STAT or emergent cases.
  • Obtains appropriate informed consents when required.
  • Documents medical history relevant to the patient and procedure.
  • Maintains positive relationships with all hospital staff.
  • Manages supply inventory, including ordering and stocking.
  • Ensures all documentation is submitted to Health Information Management and the Radiologist.
  • Troubleshoots equipment issues and contacts service engineers when necessary.
  • Verifies exam orders and patient identification, providing education about the exam.
  • Submits all relevant paperwork before procedures are sent for interpretation.
  • Works overtime and takes call as needed.
  • May require additional training or certification to meet department needs.
  • May assist or rotate to other imaging modalities as necessary.
  • Participates in department and facility performance improvement activities.
  • Follows all safety and infection control protocols.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
  • Must have 2 (or be eligible to obtain within 1 year) of the following registries: ARRT in Radiology (R), CT, MRI, Mammography (M), Nuclear Medicine Technology (N), Sonography (S) or equivalent.
  • Current BLS certification (must be obtained within 90 days).
  • Prior experience as a practicing Technologist in any of the listed modalities preferred.
  • General knowledge of Microsoft Office products and electronic records systems such as PACS and RIS/HIS.
