Job summary

Iberia Medical Center in New Iberia, LA is seeking a Radiology Assistant (Rad Asst.) to join our team on a full-time basis. The role greets patients at the reception desk, enters orders for radiology procedures, assists CT technologists with oral contrast, and helps with assessment forms and call-ins to physicians.

• Answer phone and follow through with requests.
• Print images onto CD’s or files as needed.
• Notify techs of tests ordered and patients waiting.

Responsibilities

• Answer phone and follow through with requests
• Fax Radiology reports as requested
• Print images onto CD’s
• Receive patients in the waiting area
• Ensure patients are prepped for procedures
• Order tests in the computer system
• Notify techs of tests ordered and patients waiting
• Communicate wait or other issues with patients
• Cooperate with physicians
• Assist Tech Supervisor and Manager with projects when needed
• Attend department meetings, hospital in-services
