Description:Scheduled shifts are from 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM, plus call and late stays.Two years of experience in a hospital setting is required.BLS and ACLS certifications are required.The active state license must be in hand at the time of submission.Candidates must have experience in cardiac, vascular, and thoracic procedures.

The unit has three beds and a staff of nine.The staffing includes one charge nurse, three or four Registered Nurses, two Scrub Technicians, and one Aide on day shifts.A three-member call team is present at night.The patient-to-staff ratio is three staff members per operating room.The equipment used includes Open Heart EMR and Meditech.

Candidates without the required skill set will not be considered for the role.The position requires punctuality, a 30-minute call back time, and a flexible schedule.Preferred candidates will have scrub experience with cardiac and vascular cases, as well as familiarity with Meditech.

Typical procedures performed include CABG, Valves, TAVR, EVAR, TEVAR, carotid endarterectomy, fistula creation/interventions, VATS, thoracotomy, fem-pop bypass, and angiograms with interventions.Additional procedures include LVAD, RVAD, and ECMO.Level 2 trauma coverage is provided for all vascular and thoracic procedures.

Ideal candidates will be self-motivated, team-oriented, and flexible.Scrubs will be provided for the position.Time-off requests must be made in accordance with the contract.The call requirement is one weekend per month and two to three days per week.

Additional information includes having three team members on call every night, consisting of two Registered Nurses and a scrub technician.Travelers will have a nurse backup and can expect support during procedures.The unit is a small team with members who have significant experience in the field.This opportunity allows for professional growth and development in a supportive environment.
